I spoke with this artist about a plush commission, and we agreed on a Pokedoll design. Payment was sent on March 10th, 2009.
In September, I was notified that the plush was completed, but communication was spotty and the artist was difficult to get ahold of. On October 11th, I sent her an IM asking her to confirm that she had mailed the plush, and she confirmed that she had.
On August 12th, 2010 (about 18 months after payment was sent), I finally received the plush. It was postmarked July 27th, 2010, and there was no note inside explaining what had happened, only a piece of old candy. I sent her the following email:
Hi there, I wasn't sure if I should mention this, but seeing that you're offering another plush commission slot I feel it's best to get it resolved.
"The other day, I received my Gabite Pokedoll from you. He is very cute! However, I got confirmation from you on October 11th (2009) that he was in the mail, but on the package, it shows a date of July 27th (2010), which suggests that he was mailed some 9 months after you said he was. I was also surprised to find that there was no note or anything in the package explaining why he was so delayed. Did he get returned to you? Did you accidentally mail him to the wrong address and would like to do a swap? I would like an explanation of what happened so that I don't have to think that you were just sitting on the package for months after telling me he had been mailed ^_^;;;

Ahh~ Thank you for letting me know he did arrive; I'm glad he did get there :C He did get returned to me, but you didn't give me a wrong address; I sent it to someone else by accident and it was RTS'd to me. It came back to me some time around April, I think? I'm sorry I didn't re-send it more promptly ;^; at the time I was extremely embarrassed to have made such a potentially disastrous mistake and I wasn't sure what to do or say about it. I did want to offer you an artwork of some kind to try and make up for the trouble caused; if you were interested in accepting?
I was pretty much baffled by this and did not know how to respond. I'm not interested in art as compensation and a refund doesn't really make sense for a delayed package, but my biggest problem is the complete lack of communication. I am unsure how this can be resolved, if at all, since the item has been received and the seller is mostly (though not entirely inactive now).
