Neutral feedback from feedback_king_n on Sun, 1 Jan 2012 11:14:03 -0600: I bought from lucid_dr34ming.

I commissioned lucid_dr34ming to create a Lugia hoodie and detachable tail in June 2010, agreeing a 2-part payment totalling $130. I requested (at the start of September) that it be delivered before MCM Expo on the last weekend of October, which she said should be fine.

I suffered from many of the same issues toda and kamicazizero. Poor communication and excuses, late delivery, design differences, poor build quailty, etc. The tail was especially awful and had clearly been rushed in the week before she sent it out, and I see why lucid_dr34ming never sent me photos of the tail. Other things to note include her promise to post the hoodie by the 11th, when she actually sent it on the 18th Oct (probably due to the fact that the tail was not complete), requesting more payment than had initially been agreed, and admitting some parts of the design were beyond her capabilities.

This is more of a neutral than a negative since she did refund most of the money I paid her, but I would still highly recommend you avoid commissioning lucid_dr34ming.

After seeing a custom hoodie post in July 2009, Link here, I messaged the user on DeviantArt to inquire about their custom hoodies and prices, and exchanged email address to make arrangements

This is the design agreed upon, and the prices laid out. (http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/rr107/kamacazizero/Zapdos/ZapdosCustoms/zapdos1.jpg)

On the 16th of July we agreed on a design after I explained everything I wanted, and agreed a payment plan of two $35 payments and a $40 payment which included a $10 shipping charge. The main condition of this hoodie was to be made in time for the May 2010 London MCM Expo, which was obviously 10 months away, other than that I wasn't worried about how long it took.

I do admit to a little bit of bad communication on both parts, mainly due to my emails being hacked around October time. Once we'd resumed contact and talked about the sizes, and I'd asked for pictures, I then sent the second installment of $35 on November 1st.

On November 16th 2009 I get an email saying it's expected to be finished in a couple of days, and I receive a picture (which I can't find now).

And that was the last time I heard from her for a while. I'd heard that she had been having problems via someone else asking around, having seen on another site, and I didn't want to add to her problems, so I left her alone.

Having received nothing by January, I emailed her and got no response. I then emailed again in February, and I got a reply apologising and promising the hoodie was completed and that when they return home I could get new pictures and measurements etc to make sure everything would be ok.

After waiting AGAIN, not wanting to seem like I was harassing, I get in contact with her at the beginning of May, voicing my concerns that I still haven't heard back, and that now they only had a month in which to send my hoodie to me for it to be in time for the Expo that I had originally commissioned her for. She replied and I received these pictures:

Picture 1 (http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/rr107/kamacazizero/Zapdos/ZapdosCustoms/100_2598.jpg)
Picture 2 (http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/rr107/kamacazizero/Zapdos/ZapdosCustoms/100_2597.jpg)
Picture 3 (http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/rr107/kamacazizero/Zapdos/ZapdosCustoms/100_2596.jpg)

I send the last payment installment on the 11th of May. On the 20th May I then start to get worried again, and email back asking for updates on shipping, or on anything, as I hadn't heard from her or had any packages arrive. I get a reply on the 21st saying it was sent out. So I sit back and wait.

When the package arrives, this is what I find.

1. Postage Stamp (http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/rr107/kamacazizero/Zapdos/ZapdosCustoms/IMGP6875.jpg)
This shows that she'd sent out my package the day she'd replied to me, only after I'd reminded her.

2. Custom Charge (http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/rr107/kamacazizero/Zapdos/ZapdosCustoms/IMGP6876.jpg)
To add insult to injury, my hoodie had been valued at $110, which incurred a horribly high customs charge. Now as I understand even a custom made hoodie isn't worth as much as the commission, that is a service fee primarily, not the worth of the item. And as a general understanding on the pokemon community, we don't value anything as high anyway. I do understand, however, that this business was conducted through email, but it still originated from here, and her being a member of the comm I'd have assumed that would have been thought of.

3. Rolls 1 (http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/rr107/kamacazizero/Zapdos/ZapdosCustoms/IMGP6873.jpg)
Rolls 2 (http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/rr107/kamacazizero/Zapdos/ZapdosCustoms/IMGP6872.jpg)
Rolls 3 (http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/rr107/kamacazizero/Zapdos/ZapdosCustoms/IMGP6871.jpg)
The state of the hoodie when it got here, it was covered in lint, bits of thread, hair, the lot. These weren't the only rolls I used, either. And all that black fluff wasn't from the black parts of the hoodie, only from the yellow.

4. The hoodie itself. I think the pictures I post now will explain.

Eyes 1 (http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/rr107/kamacazizero/Zapdos/ZapdosCustoms/IMGP6861.jpg)
Eyes 2 (http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/rr107/kamacazizero/Zapdos/ZapdosCustoms/IMGP6862.jpg)
The eyes, which in my understanding would be embroidered, really weren't. The whites of the eyes were painted onto black patches, and they weren't even painted neatly, they were all over the place.

Overall Picture (http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/rr107/kamacazizero/Zapdos/ZapdosCustoms/IMGP6860.jpg)
Seams 1 (http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/rr107/kamacazizero/Zapdos/ZapdosCustoms/IMGP6863.jpg)
Seams 2 (http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/rr107/kamacazizero/Zapdos/ZapdosCustoms/IMGP6864.jpg)
Seams 3(http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/rr107/kamacazizero/Zapdos/ZapdosCustoms/IMGP6865.jpg)
Wings (http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/rr107/kamacazizero/Zapdos/ZapdosCustoms/IMGP6869.jpg)

As you can see, some of the seams weren't finished properly, threads lose, generally just seemed rushed and not finished properly.

The tail (http://i474.photobucket.com/albums/rr107/kamacazizero/Zapdos/ZapdosCustoms/IMGP6868.jpg)
Other than the eyes, this has to be the single most disappointing part of this hoodie. Look at it, anyone with any knowledge of Zapdos knows that THAT is no where NEAR what a Zapdos tail looks like. I have no imagination, but even I can see that it's not even close. Take a look, basically a Zapdos's tail is conical with an inside cone of black spikes, and outside larger yellow spikes. Or if flat it'd be large yellow spikes coming from a central point, with smaller black spikes in between. I mean, look at it. I have no idea either.

Now, don't get me wrong, looking closer at the head spikes, the beak, the wings, the actual hoodie how it was put together in general, I don't think it's that bad quality really. But in my opinion? It was seriously rushed at the end, the difference in detail is massive.

5. The time it got here. According to the custom note, it arrived in the country on the 29th. I had already left on the morning of the 28th.

I emailed this user on June 20th to voice my concerns. You have to understand that I really hate complaining (hey, typical english women here lol) and I really didn't want to, but that it had to be done. I suppose this also explains my reluctance with posting a negative too.

This is what I received as an explanation:

- Emails kept getting missed as they were being sent to Spam folder.
- Was not aware that there could have been a customs fee at all.
- Package was given to roommate to mail out, and had been left in the back of a car and been forgotten about.
- Was not aware there was a black part on the tail, was trying not to raise shipping cost by making the tail too big, and admitted her best work was not done on it.
- Embroidery/Satin stitch on her machine died towards the end of making the hoodie and she did what she could within the time she had. She also mentions that the paint on the eyes looked better before she mailed it out and that something could have happened during shipping.
- Offered to make a new tail and eyes, and send them free of charge with instructions on how to attach them as soon as she is financially able.
- Makes a point that due to unforeseen circumstances that this may take while due to her financial situation.
- Offers that her going through a very rough time is to blame for all the problems (not explaining due to me not wanting reveal other people's problems).
- Profusely apologises.

I didn't make a claim against her, by the time I'd even thought about it it was too late, and with what she said about her financial situation I didn't feel I could. And I declined the offer of new parts for my hoodie, I just didn't feel that I'd get them anywhere near in time for the next Expo, in October, and couldn't trust the quality anymore. And I never got another reply anyway.

So all in all, I have a hoodie I can't wear, and I'm in total, $110 down for my troubles.

All I can say from this, is that I wish I'd posted a negative sooner =(

I am leaving a negative for lucid_dr34ming because this is just getting ridiculous.
Back in JULY, I inquired about a custom made Haunter hoodie. I let her know that I was tight on money at the time and if it would be alright if I paid her at the end of the month. She said that was fine. Come the end of the month, she was, of course, on time to ask if I was still interested. Payment was sent on JULY 31st.

On September 15th, I asked how the hoodie was coming along. She said she was on 2 vacations and pretty much didn't get around to it.

On October 26, I asked about the hoodie again but this time never got a response.

On November 7th, I asked if anyone had seen lucid_dr34ming and I was told she was still active on her blogspot so I contacted her there.
{Post on LJ (http://community.livejournal.com/pkmncollectors/7545089.html?thread=210039809#t210039809), post on Blogspot (http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/6035/75064742.png)}

On November 11th, I received an email from her.
I replied back that I was glad she contacted me and that I was worried. She emailed me back and that was the last time I heard from her again.
On DECEMBER 6th, I emailed her for the last time, asking her where my hoodie was and sent her my address. I received no reply since.

I should have learned my lesson from my previous transaction with this user and thankfully I was able to open a claim in time and I did receive her end of the deal. I am now out almost $75 and a lot of time over this. The communication on her end was and still is horrible and I'm done fighting. I ordered the hoodie during the summer and now that it's winter, and as I write this, now having a snowstorm, the hoodie is a little late. I don't want this hoodie modeled, I never asked for it. I just want it as part of my collection and wardrobe, which would be the reason why I wanted it in the first place. There is no more leeway for any more excuses at this point.I am very disappointed and unhappy with this experience and I have a feeling I'm not the only person who is waiting on stuff from her.
